Cancer very often necessitates long hospital stays. No matter how kind and empathetic the medical staff are, the long weeks and sometimes months of hospitalization, coupled with the painful and complex treatments patients are undergoing, can take a deep psychological toll. Based on conversations with hundreds of cancer patients in Israel, ICSN came up with a simple yet effective way to cheer up cancer patients, their families, and the tireless medical staff: hospital care corners. Stocked with free hot water, cups, tea, coffee and snacks, the care corners are a taste of home and source of comfort for everyone on the cancer ward.
Just having a place to enjoy a simple cup of coffee or tea and a piece of cake allows you to decompress during the time your loved one is being treated by doctors.”
